Thanks to the generosity of our members, Lodge Trustees Maria MacLean, Cris Huling and Bill Coleman delivered packages containing 3239 Children’s Diapers, 5712 Baby Wipes and 155 Adult Diapers to Homefront. These were collected during our recent “Sharing the Love” Diaper Drive. HomeFront, headquartered in Lawrenceville NJ, strives to help families break the cycle of poverty. Their Diaper Pantry & (3) Food Pantries help thousands of Mercer County families in need each year. Our Hightstown Elks Lodge 1955 is blessed to be able to support Homefront’s mission.
Hightstown Lodge marching in the annual NJ Elks convention held in Wildwood, NJ
On Saturday, July 17, 2021 the Hightstown Elks Lodge 1955 hosted its fifth “End Hunger 3.6” meal packing event at the Lodge. Coordinated by Lodge members Bill Coleman and Umang Naik and partially funded through proceeds from the annual Winter Calendar Raffle, it was a successful collaborative effort with local non-profits Be Kind and the East Windsor Area Girl Scouts (EWAGS). In just six hours, dozens of Elks members, community volunteers and Girl Scouts packaged 3960 bags (23,760 meals = 110 cases) of Fortified Rice and Beans Meals. The non-perishable food was then distributed to area pantries including RISE Food Pantry in Hightstown, Ginny’s Pantry in Hamilton and the Salvation Army in Trenton. The Hightstown Elks Lodge 1955 continues to help in the fight against local food insecurity, further demonstrating the motto “Elks Care - Elks Share”!
Hightstown Elks Lodge #1955 presented a $500.00 donation to the Hightstown High School Parents Association for their 2023 After Prom Party.
